Incandescent Luminaire- Famous Names 7”
Quick request this weekend for Incandescent Luminaire’s lone 7” from 1982. Excellent minimal synth from the UK, featuring Mark White (formerly of ABC and Vice Versa). Nice duality on both sides- the a-side is a nice slice of minimal electronic pop, while the second is a more experimental affair, complete with rickety synth lines aggressive guitar textures. Perfect for fans of Testcard F, The Actor, and bands of that ilk.

Fantastic, being a Vice Versa-fan I never knew that this existed. Thank you so much!

Loved all of these comps back when, and learned an immnese amount (and ended up buying way too much music as a result). Lost them all on a hard-drive that broke in a move, so I can’t resist using more of your bandwidth! Thanks so much!

The Mark White on this single was not the Mark White of ABC. I used to drink with this Mark and watched the band a few times in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. He’d be pleased to think he’d been linked with ABC! The band gigged at a futurist nightclub in Stoke on Trent called Chicos in 82 and Mark (this one, not ABC’s Mark) was a regular in there – as was I. I have this single, bought it at teh time of release.
