Glamatron!- Only The Heart Beats…….Inside The Silence 12”
Thanks to the Museum of Canadian Music (www.mocm.ca) for the information and rip on this one, here’s the incredibly scarce 12” from Glamatron, released in 1981. Some excellent minimal synth tracks combined with organic touches, sometimes reminiscent of John Foxx-era Ultravox. Either way, a true gem. Kurt Laporte, credited as a songwriter on this release, went on to join Vis-A-Vis, who released THIS great record. Here’s the info for this killer 12”. Enjoy!

Hi, the Kurt Laporte mentioned here did not go on to play with Niagra in France. He remained in Canada, and formed another group called Vis-A-Vis with Rude van Steenes. He then dropped out of the music scene.

Hi,
Just a correction for your intro above. Although Kurt Laporte co-wrote the music with me, I am the lyricist/vocalist/synthesist/percussionist on this 12″. We (Kurt and I) formed the band after an idea I had following the suspension of my previous band, ARSON. We financed this recording and later went on to form the band, Vis-A-Vis together.
Kurt has since then moved out of town while I stayed behind doing a stint with Electronic Dream Factory (EDF) under the pseudonym Matte Black. Feel free to contact me for more info and thanks!
