Happy friday, ladies and gents. Today’s band is one I could find little information on aside from their origin and lone release info.
Der Deutsche Adel is the name of the band, a German post-punk band with a killer synth-heavy sound and just one self-titled release under their belt. Can’t seem to dig up any more info about the record, but it’s easily one of the best of its kind.
Though the band hailed from Germany, there are French and Spanish pressings of this mini-LP, the former released on Divine (Mecano, Fra Lippo Lippi, End of Data, Complot Bronswick, Seconde Chambre, etc.). Curious. Here’s the info:

Isn't "Sally oh Sally" the same song as Bryan Adams' "Summer of '69"? Just me?

Great record too, that one. As far as I remember from stuff I read when it was released here in France, it was a bunch of Germany-based Czechs refugees – that was before the collapse of Soviet Union, mind you, and Czecholovaquia was still a democratic republic – with an American singer. That's all I know. And the tunes are great.

Also, about the french connection: the thing is produced by Jiri Smetana, then owner of Gibus, a pretty decent venue programming a lot of bands. He also produced the odd record, like some side projects of the Inmates or of Bill Hurley. He was a Czech, and I guess you didn't have that many Czechs in the rock sphere then, so do the math.
